Finalists announced for the IChemE Australasia Awards 2026

IChemE has announced the finalists for the Australasia Awards 2026, recognising outstanding achievements in chemical and process engineering across Australia and New Zealand.
The finalists represent organisations and individuals delivering innovative projects with demonstrated engineering excellence, technical capability, sustainability outcomes and real-world impact. They have been recognised across categories reflecting key priorities for the profession, including energy transition, process safety, research excellence, health and wellbeing, sustainable systems and entrepreneurship.
Head Judge Andrea Hosey FIChemE said: “It’s been an exceptional year for entries across Australasia, and I’m delighted to see the number and diversity of high-standard applications continuing to grow year on year.”
“This year’s entries demonstrate the incredible breadth of chemical engineering, with outstanding collaborations across industry, academia and government, alongside innovative solutions that are helping to build more sustainable systems across a range of sectors.”

More than 35 entries were received from organisations across Australia and New Zealand, reflecting strong participation from sectors including technology, manufacturing, food and beverage, energy, consulting and higher education.
Winners will be announced at a joint gala dinner with the Australian and New Zealand Federation of Chemical Engineers (ANZFChE) Awards of Excellence on Tuesday 29 September 2026 at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, as part of Chemeca 2026 and Hazards Australasia.
Category winners will automatically progress as finalists in the IChemE Global Awards 2026, one of the world's leading awards programs recognising excellence in chemical and process engineering.
