Global Awards open for entries

26th March 2025

IChemE is now accepting entries for its 2025 Global Awards, which are free to enter and open to all.

The IChemE Global Awards are widely considered the world’s most prestigious chemical, biochemical and process engineering awards. For more than 30 years, the IChemE Awards have celebrated innovation and excellence across our increasingly diverse sector.

The deadline to enter is 25 July 2025 and winners will be announced at the IChemE Global Awards Dinner on 20 November in Manchester. Booking for this event will open once the finalists have been announced.

This year, we are also staging National Awards in Australasia and Malaysia with category winners qualifying as finalists in the Global Awards.

Returning categories for 2025 are the IChemE Food and Drink Award and the IChemE Nuclear Technology Award. Other categories include awards for Industry Project, Process Safety, Sustainability and Training & Development. The best overall entry across all categories will receive the IChemE Outstanding Achievement in Chemical and Process Engineering 2025 Award (sponsored by ExxonMobil). For a full category list, visit the IChemE Global Awards page.

Entries are judged by a panel of senior IChemE members and other industry experts. Global Awards Head Judge and IChemE Fellow Jamie Cleaver says “Once again, we start the search for excellence in Chemical Engineering with the IChemE Global Awards 2025.  I really encourage you to consider being part of the awards this year.  There are 16 categories reflecting a wide range of technical and professional themes.  Winning a category or being highly commended reflects positively on your organisation and helps motivate the people involved.  Success is infectious, and you might find inspiration and benefit simply by taking part.”

What is chemical engineering?

Chemical, biochemical and process engineering is the application of science, mathematics and economics in the process of turning raw materials into everyday, and more specialist, products. Professional chemical engineers design, construct and manage process operations all over the world. Energy, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, synthetic fibres and clean drinking water are just some of the industry sectors and products where chemical engineering plays a central role.
