IChemE invites early career researchers to apply for the Andrew Fellowship

IChemE has launched the next Andrew Fellowship, supporting early career researchers in the field of heterogeneous catalysis. The award covers the Fellow’s salary costs for one year, as well as research-related expenses of up to £15,000. Successful applicants will be researchers working in heterogeneous catalysis whose research is relevant to industrial challenges.

The Andrew Fellowship is open to members of IChemE worldwide who will undertake their research while employed by a university or research institute, and engage significantly with an industrial partner. The goal of the Andrew Fellowship is to encourage academic research that enhances the science of formulation of heterogeneous catalysts, to foster collaboration between researchers and industry, and promote research that addresses industrially relevant challenges.

Akshat Tanksale, Professor of Chemical & Biological Engineering at Monash University, Australia, explained the difference from the previous iteration of the Fellowship: “The new Fellowship is aimed at helping early career researchers to develop their independent career, rather than supporting established researchers. I am very proud to see the revised Fellowship now being rolled out.” 

The Andrew Fellowship was established to commemorate the work of IChemE Fellow Professor Syd Andrew, a distinguished expert in the field of catalysis. The deadline for applications is 1 December 2024. For more details and to submit your application, visit the Andrew Fellowship webpage.
