Claudia Flavell-While

Claudia has been with IChemE since 2001, when she joined the editorial team on The Chemical Engineer as a senior reporter. Over the years, she has worked in many capacities across IChemE’s learned society function, including publications, policy, and medals.

In recent years her focus has been on developing IChemE’s position as a learned society more broadly and putting in place member oversight across the learned society function. This has resulted in the creation of a Learned Society Committee, which now oversees all of IChemE’s activities in this area and gives strategic direction to technical work.

In addition to her work for IChemE, Claudia acts as the Financial Secretariat to the European Federation of Chemical Engineering and the European Society of Biochemical Engineering Sciences and co-ordinates the participation of IChemE's members in both organisations.
