Kai Seng Koh

Kai Seng graduated from the University of Nottingham Malaysia in 2009 with a BEng in chemical engineering, he then completed his PhD and graduated in 2013. Kai Seng worked in Malaysia’s largest glove manufacturing company for 11 months as a researcher and obtained the first industry patent for the company. He then moved to China and took up the position of Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China. During these two and a half years, he was also exposed to industry practices in China and realised that there is a huge gap between university and industry.

After moving back to Malaysia in 2016 to join Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, he seized the opportunity to bridge the gap between university and industry. He has been working closely with various industry partners to pursue both technical and non-technical development.
