A-levels and Highers/Advanced Highers

If you’re heading off to study chemical engineering this Autumn here are a few tips to get you started. If you’re thinking about different options; perhaps going through clearing, looking for an apprenticeship or taking a break from study you can undertake virtual work experience to find out more about chemical and process engineering and different sectors.

When you have received confirmation of your university place to study chemical or process engineering or a closely related subject, you can apply to join IChemE as a student member. Student members can access member-exclusive resources including:

  • Events, competitions and other opportunities
  • IChemE’s Student pocketbook containing concepts, principles and formulae for chemical engineering students
  • The Chemical Engineer online magazine for news, views and jobs from the chemical, biochemical and process engineering sectors
  • Knovel e-library, an online resource combining books, technical information, interactive equations and analytical tools
