Celebrating professional achievement: New regional conferring ceremonies

Celebrating professional achievement: New regional conferring ceremonies

31st October 2025

IChemE is proud to introduce a new series of regional Conferring Ceremonies, created to formally celebrate members who have recently achieved Chartered Member (MIChemE) or Fellow (FIChemE) status. These events will also honour IChemE Medal and Prize winners and acknowledge the vital contributions of key volunteers who support the Institution’s mission.

The ceremonies are designed to recognise not just individual achievement, but the broader community that supports professional growth, including employers, mentors, and peers. They provide a formal yet welcoming setting where members can celebrate milestones with guests and colleagues, and where organisations can publicly demonstrate their commitment to professional excellence.

To ensure accessibility and regional representation, three events will take place across the UK this year:

  • 24 November, Edinburgh
  • 27 November, Manchester
  • 1 December, London

Each ceremony will take place in the afternoon and will include formal recognition of new Chartered Members and Fellows, short addresses from IChemE leaders, and presentations to Medal and Prize recipients. Light refreshments and networking opportunities will follow, creating a celebratory and professional atmosphere.

Invitations will be sent directly to eligible members, but we encourage employers to support attendance and consider joining their colleagues at these special events.
