Chartered Week: Supporting and showcasing your engineers
18th February 2026
Chartered Week is an opportunity to recognise the value of professional registration and to celebrate the individuals who demonstrate the competence, commitment, and professionalism that Chartered status represents. For IChemE, Chartered Members are at the heart of delivering safe, innovative, and sustainable engineering across the chemical and process industries.
IChemE celebrates Chartered achievement in a number of ways throughout the year. Our regional conferring ceremonies, launched last year, provide a formal and visible way to recognise new Chartered Members and Fellows alongside medal and prize winners and key volunteers. The first ceremonies, held in Edinburgh, Manchester, and London, brought together members, employers, and families to celebrate professional milestones and the organisations that support them.
We will continue this regional approach in May and October this year, making it easier for employers to attend and celebrate the achievements of their teams. These events not only recognise individual success but also highlight the role organisations play in supporting professional development, mentoring, and Initial Professional Development.
Beyond the ceremonies, Chartered Members are recognised through IChemE Global Awards, Medals and Prizes, volunteer opportunities, and leadership roles across our networks and events. We also promote Chartered success stories to inspire the next generation and demonstrate the impact of professionally registered engineers.
For employers, supporting engineers to achieve and maintain Chartered status strengthens technical capability, supports retention and progression, and reinforces a culture of professionalism and continuous development.
During Chartered Week, we encourage employer partners to recognise their Chartered engineers, share their achievements internally and with IChemE, and explore how we can support more of your team on the journey to professional registration.
