Employer Partner discussions helping shape support for graduates

18th August 2026

Several recent Employer Partner discussions have focused on how organisations can help graduates build professional skills alongside their technical development. Employers have highlighted the importance of supporting early career engineers to develop confidence, communication skills and professional networks, helping them contribute more effectively in the workplace.

IChemE has listened to this feedback and responded through Skills for Success, a programme designed to give young engineers practical, accessible support as they build confidence, capability and professional identity. The programme includes a growing range of webinars and resources covering topics such as professional reputation, career development and interview skills.

Employer Partners can play an important role by encouraging graduates and early career engineers to engage with these resources. By actively signposting Skills for Success, organisations can strengthen early career development, support progress towards professional registration and help engineers build the professional skills needed to thrive.
