IChemE celebrates excellence at first regional conferring ceremonies
18th December 2025
IChemE hosted its inaugural conferring ceremonies this November and December, celebrating newly elected Chartered Members (MIChemE), Fellows (FIChemE), Medal and Prize winners, and key volunteers in a series of professional, regional events across the UK.
Held in Edinburgh (24 November), Manchester (27 November), and London (1 December), the ceremonies marked a new chapter in how IChemE formally recognises professional milestones and contributions to the Institution and the wider chemical engineering community.
Across the three events, over 30 individuals were celebrated for achieving Chartered and Fellow status, with many joined by their families, colleagues, and employer representatives. The ceremonies also included presentations to winners of IChemE’s prestigious Medals and Prizes, and acknowledgements of volunteers whose efforts underpin many of IChemE’s core activities.
Each ceremony featured remarks from senior IChemE representatives, highlighting the importance of professional recognition, the value of volunteering, and the Institution’s ongoing commitment to supporting chemical engineers throughout their careers. The events concluded with informal networking, allowing attendees to connect with peers, celebrate achievements, and reflect on the strength and diversity of the profession.
These new regional ceremonies are part of IChemE’s broader commitment to recognising and celebrating success across its global membership. By creating more accessible, locally based events, IChemE aims to strengthen ties with members and employers, and enhance the visibility of professional achievement in chemical engineering.
