Overview

As space exploration advances, the ability to utilise local resources becomes increasingly important. Transporting materials from Earth to the Moon is incredibly expensive, making it crucial for future lunar inhabitants to rely on locally sourced materials rather than on resupply missions from Earth. Fortunately, the Moon offers a wide range of resources, however determining how best to extract and use them presents a unique challenge. In this talk, we will explore potential solutions for utilising lunar resources in the near future.

Joseph Rasera, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Imperial College London

Joshua N Rasera is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of dry mineral processing in the Space and Terrestrial Resources Group at Imperial College London. He completed both a Bachelor and Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo and a Master of Science in Space Studies from the International Space University. Joshua also worked as the Lunar Mineral Processing Engineer for a private lunar exploration company in Luxembourg.
