Richard is a Chartered Chemical Engineer who retired from what was previously the BP Chemicals manufacturing site at Saltend, Hull after 34 years of service.

He specialised in matters of process safety and fluid dynamics, including transient analysis.

He is the longest serving member on the committee, having previously been involved in "bucket chemistry" to promote chemical engineering for schools and treasurer.

Richard is the Technical Events Co-Ordinator  for the Hull and Humber Member Group.
