Overview

Join the London and South East Coast Member Group for their annual meeting with a keynote talk by Professor Paul Fennell on the topic of Carbon Capture and Storage "Enhancing CCS for Net Zero: bridging from laboratory to the real world".

Professor Fennell’s talk will highlight fresh perspectives from recent projects that connect lab‑scale innovation with practical deployment. He will outline advances in CCS performance driven by materials science and process integration, with emphasis on industrial CO2 capture and decarbonising hard‑to‑abate sectors. He will also discuss how CCS fits into wider net‑zero strategies, informed by his work with policy bodies and international research groups. Attendees will gain a clear view of the key technical challenges, emerging opportunities, and the strategic importance of CCS for sustainable industrial transitions.

This meeting will review last years member group activity, and provide a platform for all members to contribute ideas for events being planned for this year and beyond. There will be a presentation about our committee's activity and this is an opportunity to informally meet members of the committee and for those interested to discuss how best to get involved.

After the meeting there will be the opportunity to network informally over drinks and nibbles.
