Overview

Applicants applying for Chartered Membership will need to complete the three Stage process. There are exemptions available for both Stages 1 and 2 (IPD), however all applicants will need to complete Stage 3.

Initial Professional Development (IPD) is the period in your career when you develop the knowledge, understanding and skill, and professional attitude for qualifying as a Chartered Member. It can take place through a structured graduate training scheme or it may be self-managed. Those that take the self-managed route will need to have their experience assessed at Stage 2.

This session is designed for those from recent graduates to experienced engineers, that are completing their IPD outside of an IChemE Accredited Company Training Scheme. We also encourage those providing mentoring support to attend. We will discuss the competencies required, the application process and resources available for documenting your training and experience.
