Emily George
Emily gained a MEng in chemical engineering from the University of Leeds in 2017. As part of her degree, Emily completed an industrial placement working with Atkins Ltd in Bristol. She was part of the defence business with a focus on safety engineering, particularly COMAH and explosives safety.
After graduating, Emily joined Meggitt in Coventry with a focus on manufacturing for both civilian and military aerospace programmes. During her time in the business so far, she has been involved in a large transition project which will see the construction of a brand-new manufacturing facility design to hold several existing manufacturing processes.
Current work involves simulation of manufacturing processes to monitor line balancing and efficiency with a view to driving continuous improvement activities. Emily enjoys playing rugby for Birmingham Moseley Ladies and she serves part-time in the Army Reserve as part of the Royal Engineers.
