Nigel Heywood
Nigel works as a senior engineering consultant at Framatome Ltd (Cranfield, Bedfordshire) in the chemicals and process section. His consultancy and research projects cover applied rheology, slurry handling, multiphase pipeline flow and fluid mixing. He also runs open and in-house training courses and regularly presents papers at international conferences.
Before Framatome Ltd, he joined BHR Group in 2005, and worked at Warren Spring Laboratory (1979 to 1994) and UKAEA/AEA Technology (1994 to 2002), starting up and managing the Wet Solids Handling research consortium from 1984 to 2000. He worked at Aspen Technology (2002 to 2005).
Nigel obtained a BSc (Eng) and MSc from Imperial College, a PhD from the University of Swansea, and an executive MBA from Imperial College. He became a CEng, MIChemE in 1982 and a FIChemE in 1987.
Nigel was a member of the Icknield committee (part of the London and South East Branch) in the 1980’s and 1990’s, and has been a member of the Milton Keynes Group since 2014, and is a previous chair from 2016 to 2022.
