Arda Gulal
Arda is a 3rd year MEng Chemical Engineering Student from University of Surrey, currently on a placement year working as a R&D Engineer at Saint Gobain. He is passionate about driving innovation into processes to make a real difference in reducing emissions and improving efficiency.
Arda served as the course representative in both of his previous years at Surrey, representing his peers and taking on responsibility when needed. He also served as the President of ChemEngSoc at Surrey, helping the department break 2 records by reaching its highest attendances at both Frank Morton 2025 and the End of Year Dinner. He hopes to apply the skills gained at a much larger scale with the NECG.
Beyond his professional and academic life, Arda enjoys playing squash, going to the gym, and discovering new ways to stay active! Having been involved in several IChemE events in the past, he really enjoys meeting and learning from like-minded people within the Chemical Engineering community. As Events Deputy, he looks forward to helping create more opportunities for early career engineers to connect, share ideas and grow professionally.
