Ekundayo is a Graduate Development/Process Engineer at the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), where he works in the Tritium Fuel Cycle Division to support the actualisation of fusion energy.

He earned his Master’s degree in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Process Systems Engineering from Imperial College London in 2024. His research project, A decomposition approach to feasibility for decentralised operation of multi-stage processes, was accepted for oral presentation at the ESCAPE 35 conference and has since been published. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering from Rivers State University, Nigeria.

Prior to his postgraduate studies, Ekundayo served as Shift In-Charge at Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemicals, overseeing product handling operations. His earlier industry exposure includes a brief internship at Weatherford Nigeria Limited and a six-month Process Engineering placement at Nigeria LNG, both undertaken during his undergraduate studies.

Ekundayo is passionate about clean energy, sustainability outreach, and community volunteering. He is currently working toward becoming a Fusion Ambassador, reflecting his belief in fusion’s potential to deliver a limitless supply of clean energy.

As a newly elected committee member of IChemE’s National Early Careers Group, Ekundayo hopes to help build a more inclusive and engaged early-career community, promote innovation, and create opportunities for students, graduates, and young engineers to connect, grow, and lead within the profession.
