Overview

Join us for an insightful webinar exploring how predictive modelling can transform solid dosage development. Solid tablets remain the most common and accessible drug-delivery format, but increasing demand for high‑quality, life‑saving medicines requires faster, more reliable ways to evaluate critical quality attributes.

This session will present research focused on developing predictive models to estimate tablet quality based on material properties and processing parameters. Using placebo tablets produced under varied formulation and manufacturing conditions, the study compares ANCOVA, multiple regression, and a Buckingham’s Pi‑based mathematical model. Key findings highlight the dominant factors affecting tablet friability and demonstrate how robust modelling approaches can support more efficient development.

We’ll also discuss the future potential of machine‑learning‑enhanced models and their role in driving data‑driven decision‑making in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Ideal for professionals in formulation, process engineering, and pharmaceutical R&D looking to accelerate development while ensuring consistent product quality.

Speaker

Jenny Mullins, Munster Technology University (MTU)

Jenny is a final-year chemical and biopharmaceutical engineering student at Munster Technological University in Cork. Having completed a placement as a process engineer with PM Group, working both in the Mahon office and on site at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. After graduating, she will return to PM Group as a process engineering graduate. For her final-year project, she investigated how material properties and operating parameters influence pharmaceutical tablet quality. She has also served as Chair of the Chemical Engineering Society at MTU, helping to organise several successful student events.
