Overview
In the third of our Navigating Nuclear series, join us for an insightful session on the management of low and intermediate-level nuclear waste. This session will cover the types of waste generated during nuclear power plant operations, historic methods of on-site storage, and the unique challenges faced during end-of-life decommissioning. We will explore waste retrieval and processing techniques, interim on-site storage solutions, and final disposal strategies.

Cameron MacPhail, Project Director, Process & Nuclear, KBR
Cameron MacPhail is an Engineering Design Manager and Process Engineer with extensive experience across the Nuclear, Power, Pharmaceutical, Defence, Mining, and Water sectors. He specialises in process safety, radioactive waste treatment, nuclear fuel routes, and heavy metal abatement. Cameron holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West of Scotland and is a member of both the Association for Project Management and ARPANSA’s Nuclear Safety Committee.
