Overview

The new Cambridge wastewater treatment plant is currently being commissioned, and it will be operating under one of the most stringent municipal wastewater discharge consents in New Zealand. 

Luke will talk about the journey taken to get to this point, looking at both the environmental and engineering work undertaken, including the significant process optioneering work to balance achieving stringent discharge limits with minimising other environmental impacts such as greenhouse gas emissions.

Luke will also touch on how the treatment standards being targeted at Cambridge compare to the new Water Services Authority, Taumata Arowai, Wastewater Environmental Performance Standards.

Luke is a service leader in the Pattle Delamore Partners Water Infrastructure team, he is a chartered chemical engineer with 10 years of experience working in the water and wastewater industry, both in the UK and New Zealand.
