Overview
Conrad Bezuidenhout, a Metallurgical Engineer with 30 years’ experience in the iron and steel industry, will present on the Electric Arc Furnace project at New Zealand Steel. Conrad will cover the impact of the EAF on New Zealand Steels’ greenhouse gas emissions and illustrate the process flow changes as a result of this major capital investment.

Conrad’s experience spans across technical and operational areas in mining and iron and steel production. He started his career in 1995 at Highveld Steel and Vanadium Corporation Ltd in South Africa, where he filled various roles in the process development laboratory, Steel Making and Iron Plants. Conrad was employed by New Zealand Steel in 2008 in the role of Iron Making Technologist and worked across mining and primary operations.
