Ioulia is a Senior Process Engineer at BOC, working on a variety of customer, BOC cylinder filling and air separation projects. Graduated with MEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds.

Peter Henry

Deputy Chair

Peter is an Associate Member of the IChemE currently working as a Production Manager. Peter has spent 15 years working in the chemical industry on COMAH sites in projects, engineering and operations roles. As deputy chair, Peter supports the Chair, primarily by strengthening links with fellow professional engineering institutions, sits on a local PEI Committee and promotes engineering in Sheffield through university liaison, STEM links and various events.

Peter Weston

Treasurer

Pete is a Principal Lecturer and Course Leader for Chemical Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University. Pete’s two main passions are to develop practical sustainable technologies and to support aspiring engineers. His research interests are focussed on biomass gasification and industrial heat recovery.

Matthew Bell

Secretary

Matthew is currently a Senior Chemical Engineer at Arup, working primarily in the Hydrogen industry. He graduated with an MEng in chemical engineering from the University of Sheffield in 2017.

Richard Griffiths

Committee Member

Richard is an industrial gas process plant product manager covering the EMEA region, working in the industrial gases business for the last 17 years in various technical, operational and commercial roles. Richard graduated from the University of Nottingham and is both a Chartered Chemical Engineer and Fellow of IChemE. He has been involved with this committee since 2010 and has previously occupied the roles of Secretary and Chair. He is also Secretary and Deputy Chair of a technical committee within the British Compressed Gases Association. Richard takes a keen interest in developing others and has been a Sheffield region mentor for many years.

Andrew Piearcey

Andrew is a Chemical Engineering Consultant who owns a company that specialises in Air Pollution Control system design and specification.

Derick Liew

Committee Member

Derick obtained MEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering with Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham Malaysia. He is currently a University Tutor at the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre and interested in the following areas: polymers related research and industrial work; development of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education; law and policies related to the management and governance of technology and innovation, intellectual property, and sustainable development.

Jessica Boateng

Jessica is a Senior Process Safety Engineer working for BOC (a Linde Company). In her role, she focuses of hazard identification and risk management for COMAH sites.

Kwaku Asiamah

Committee Member

Kwaku is the Data and Performance Manager for BOC’s OnSites operations. He holds an MEng in Chemical and Process Engineering with Fuel Technology from the University of Sheffield.

Isaac is a Process Engineer at Victrex, working in operational and project support roles in monomer production. He graduated with a MEng in Chemical Engineering with a year in Industry from the University of Sheffield in 2021.
