Paul has worked as a chemical engineer since graduating from Loughborough University in 2003, holding a wide range of roles in the design, construction and operations of various high hazard processes.

Since 2016, he has been a principal consultant at Kiwa Gastec, an independent testing, certification, training and consultancy company with expertise in the energy sector. His role at Kiwa is to help private companies, government departments in the UK and overseas, and professional bodies to apply rigorous chemical engineering knowledge to develop clean, sustainable, and safe energy systems.

Paul has a particular focus on hydrogen as an energy carrier, and how through appropriate designs and procedures it has the potential to decarbonise applications that are currently served by the combustion of fossil fuels.

Paul is past treasurer of the South West Member Group and of the Teesside Member Group.
