Overview
This talk was designed to help the audience understand how greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories can play a key role in the development and advancement of their company's national GHG inventory management system. While the establishment of a system to compile and improve the national GHG inventory may seem difficult and complex; this talk will make the process easier and clearer, by showing viewers how to maximise the use of supporting resources. The presenter also illustrated the importance of GHG inventories through case studies and strategies done for companies of various scales and sectors.

Dr Donnie Boodlal, Associate Professor, University of Trinidad and Tobago
Dr Boodlal sits on the Board of NGC, he is also an Associate Professor in Process Engineering at the University of Trinidad and Tobago where he serves as discipline leader for the BASc/MEng in process engineering and MSc in energy engineering programmes.
He holds a BSc in mechanical engineering, a Postgraduate Diploma in petroleum engineering, an MSc in industrial innovation, entrepreneurship and management and a PhD in process and utilities engineering.
Dr Boodlal has worked with international peers on expert review teams for national communications and biennial reports through the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change, and with regional governments in Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda and the Bahamas as a greenhouse gas inventory and mitigation consultant through the Caribbean Cooperative Measurement, Reporting and Verification Hub. In addition, Dr Boodlal has worked with many local companies in Trinidad and Tobago in his areas of expertise. In the capacity of GHG inventory expert, he has contributed towards Trinidad and Tobago’s Third National Communication and First Biennial Update Report.
As a scholar, he has co-authored over 30 refereed articles in areas related to sustainability, renewable energy, environmental management, cleaner production, GHG inventories and GHG mitigation and he is regarded nationally as being at the forefront of the field of sustainable emissions reductions.
