Overview
45V tax credit is a production tax credit for each kilogram of clean hydrogen (with low lifecycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions rate) produced in the US Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is used to calculate lifecycle GHG emissions rate of hydrogen. This tax credit is technology agnostic.
Speaker
Sarah Torkamani, Environmental and Energy Policy Director, Air Products
Sarah joined Air Products in 2022 as the Environmental and Energy Policy Director. She directs policy strategy and advocacy on environmental and energy issues at the federal and international levels.
Before joining Air Products, Sarah worked on decarbonization and life cycle assessment (LCA) at ExxonMobil for over nine years, and methane reforming and combustion at Linde for three years. She has served on the Pennsylvania State University advisory board for their master’s program in Renewable Energy and Sustainability Systems (RESS). She also served on the stakeholder advisory board of the Northeast Woody/Warm-season Biomass Consortium (NEWBio) to help guide biofuel production in the Northeast region. She has chaired and co-chaired numerous sessions at Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) conferences.
Sarah holds a PhD in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. She completed two post-doctoral research programs at Washington University on algae, gasification and oxy-combustion and organised an international symposium on the Global Energy Future.
