Hugh is a Lead for Carbon Capture Technology at the Global CCS Institute based in Melbourne, Australia. Hugh is a chemical engineer, and before joining the Institute, he worked in the industrial gases sector in Australia and New Zealand.

Hugh holds a Bachelor's in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Auckland. Hugh is an active volunteer in the chemical engineering profession in Australia, and has previously held the role of Early Career Representative on the Institution of Chemical Engineers National Board, in addition to his role on the Joint Victorian Chemical Engineering Committee.
