- Process plant control room with debriefing, communications, and simulation rooms
- Dedicated office space for industry partners to engage directly with students
- General and computer-based learning areas
- Navy specialist training room
- CAD computer laboratories
- LoT home automation systems
- Material testing laboratory
- Binary Distillation Column
Tour program highlights
The site tour will begin with a safety induction to access the operational process plant. Attendees will then receive an overview of the separation processes within the facility, including a walkthrough of the site’s piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
A guided tour of the Munster campus will follow, showcasing key training areas such as the Honeywell simulator room and control room, general training facilities, and the live process plant. During the plant visit, participants will engage in an activity linking process lines to P&IDs, and observe isolations, permits, and minor maintenance procedures in action.
The session also includes a demonstration of the binary distillation column, with an explanation of its purpose and operation, as well as a visit to the automation zone featuring a simulated mine environment. The tour will conclude with an overview of the engineering training programs offered at the centre.
