Abby Samson
Abby Samson is a Lecturer in Fuels and Combustion in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield.
She graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame (2003), a MS in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University (2005) in the area of coal and carbon science and a PhD from the University of Leeds (2011) in the area of biomass conversion.
Abby’s main research interests focus on the development of renewable energy from thermochemical conversion of biomass including fundamental studies on biomass gasification, combustion and pyrolysis.
Abby is married with one child and enjoys music, hiking and rock climbing.
