Dr Finney is a chartered engineer and currently a senior research fellow within the Energy2050 group at the University of Sheffield. Her research interests include sustainable power production via thermal treatments (combustion, gasification, pyrolysis) of fossil fuels, wastes and biomass, coupled with carbon capture technologies. She has also worked as a research fellow at the Energy Technology and Innovation Initiative (University of Leeds) and has had visiting researcher roles at both Alstom Power Ltd and GE Power.
