Sze-Pheng Ong
Dr Ong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. She received her first degree in chemical engineering (BEng Hons) from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and later obtained her doctorate degree (PhD) from the University of Nottingham. She is a Fellow of the HEA (FHEA), a registered Charted Engineer (CEng) with the UK Engineering Council, a Charted Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineering (MIChemE) and a Graduate Member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
Currently, she serves as one of the editors of EdSIG newsletter. She has a special interest on the usage of modern tools in enhancing the teaching and learning. She has been teaching process control and dynamics, fat and oil processing and oleochemicals for years. Her research areas are mainly in industry drying, food microstructure, processing of phytochemicals, edible antioxidants, antidiabetics, product development, process optimization and simulation.
