Felipe Basaglia
Felipe graduated with a MEng in chemical engineering from the University of Manchester in 2010, further obtaining an MSc in nuclear science and technology (NTEC) from the Dalton Institute in 2011.
He has worked in a variety of roles within the nuclear industry, most recently forming part of the independent project and programme assurance capability at Sellafield Ltd. Felipe currently chairs the Nuclear Technology Special Interest Group.
Felipe has undertaken a variety of roles focusing on integrated waste management across the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) Estate, the implementation of emerging digital technologies to optimise operations at Sellafield, as well as core chemical engineering and design delivery.
He has led the modelling and simulation as well as flowsheeting centre of expertise at Sellafield, actively supporting decision making at all levels of the organisation, providing independent assurance and guidance.
Felipe chairs the Nuclear Technology Special Interest Group, as well as being a Shadow Theme Lead for the Nuclear Skills Strategy Group.
