Overview

Assessing, reporting and mitigating physical climate related risks is becoming an essential requirement for businesses. High-resolution climate modelling has been used by many energy businesses, including oil and gas production product manufacturing and retail. This webinar will provide a practical, interactive demonstration of a commercially available system that has been used by many major enterprises, including:

• assessing asset and portfolio based risks
• identifying major hazards scenarios and compliance
• corporate reporting and disclosure.

Speakers

Sebastien Burgess, Director, Jupiter Intelligence

Sebastien is Director, Industrial and Energy Sector at Jupiter Intelligence. In this role he supports climate risk management programmes across large, capital-intensive asset operators, including power and energy, mining sector, oil and gas, and other large industrial clients. This involves analysing climate physical risks across asset footprints and value chains to ensure more resilient operations and compliance with emerging climate regulation.

Tim Fox, IMechE, Chair of the Climate Adaptation Working Group

Tim will share context on the joint IMechE / IChemE programme and can respond to questions on the more general aspects of climate adaptation. He is an internationally recognised expert in climate change adaptation and mitigation with specialist knowledge of clean energy, sustainable cooling, and process engineering-based industries. He is an independent consultant and a Fellow of the IMechE, where he is Chair of the Climate Change Adaptation Working Group and a past Chair of the Process Industries Division.

Steven Flynn, IChemE, Chair of the Oil, Gas and Energy Transition Special Interest Group

Steve will chair the meeting and answer questions about IChemE’s Energy Transition activities. He has 30 years of oil and gas industry experience, is a member of IChemE’s Learned Society Committee and a Fellow of the Institution.
