Hong Wai Onn is the Technical Service Manager of Novozymes, current honorary secretary of IChemE in Malaysia Board and an EXCO of the Palm Oil Processing Special Interest Group.

In August 2015, Ir Hong and Ir Qua founded IChemE Palm Oil Processing Special Interest Group where he served as the Chair from 3 August 2015 to 31 December 2020. He has been an EXCO of the Palm Oil Processing Special Interest Group since 01 January 2021.

Ir Hong wrote his first book “A Chemical Engineer in the Palm Oil Milling Industry”, which was released on 19 August 2020. In the book he explains the opportunities chemical engineers have in the palm oil milling industry.
