Redefining Palm Oil Clarification with RAPID Oil Recovery System (RAPID), Rahmat Ngteni

SD Guthrie Reseach Sdn Bhd has developed RAPID oil recovery system (RAPID), a simplified palm oil clarification setup with the enhancement in oil recovery efficiency.

RAPID is a patented system that employs a specially designed horizontal clarifier with a short retention time (RAPID tank) in conjunction with a high-speed separator (HSS). This innovative approach maintains critical oil quality parameters, including Free Fatty Acid (FFA) level, Deterioration of Bleachability Index (DOBI), Carotene value and oil oxidation level, while significantly reducing oil loss from 0.85-1% to below 0.7% OLWB.

By mitigating the milling factor's impact on CPO quality degradation, RAPID supports to fulfilling the growing global demand for specialty-grade CPO while enhancing the overall palm oil mill productivity.

GEA solution for Oil Recovery in Palm Oil Industry, Stephanus Dwidianto

GEA has developed an additional process stage in order to improve the profitability of the conventional process by recovering residual oil from the sterilizer condensate and EFB press.

Speakers

Rahmat Ngteni, Chief Engineer I, SD Guthrie Research Sdn Bhd

En. Rahmat has over 15 years of experience in the palm oil milling, process control, water and effluent treatment industries, primarily serving SD Guthrie Research Sdn. Bhd. He obtained his Master's degree in Engineering Technology (Chemical Engineering) from UniKL MICET, Melaka in 2021 and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Design & Construction) from Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences, Germany in 2007.

Stephanus Dwidianto, Country Managing Director - Singapore. Head of APAC Hub Separation CoC, GEA Westfalia Separator

Stephanus has worked for GEA Westfalia Separator for a total of 25 years. Throughout his tenure, he has leveraged his extensive knowledge in centrifugal technology, processes, and field experience to make significant contributions to the field.

Specifically, Stephanus has focused on the development and improvement of palm oil processing using decanters or separators in Southeast Asian countries, primarily in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. His expertise has played a crucial role in advancing the efficiency and effectiveness of palm oil processing within the region.
