Noor Al-rifai
Noor is a senior scientist at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson within small molecule drug product development – process engineering. She graduated from the University of Birmingham with an MEng in chemical engineering with business management (2009) and from UCL with a PhD in micro-reaction engineering (2016). Noor’s professional experience spans pharmaceutical and consumer goods product and process development – Merck Sharp & Dohme (2009-2010), Procter & Gamble (2016-2018) and currently Janssen/Johnson & Johnson (2018-Present).
At Janssen, Noor is delivering on engineering strategies to optimise and accelerate product, process development and technology transfer, where she has received several awards for innovation and achieving exceptional business results. Noor is a Chartered Member of IChemE and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, the latter gained in her role as Teaching Fellow at UCL Chemical Engineering (2014-2016).
Noor joined the Pharma Special Interest Group committee in 2020, hoping to contribute towards initiatives and decision-making that would benefit practicing chemical engineers in pharma, as well as prospective ones – ultimately helping chemical engineers contribute their best towards the process of making medicines.
