Ian Wallis
In a career spanning over 35 years, Ian has gained extensive experience in Safety and Reliability Engineering, Business and Project Management in several highly regulated industry sectors. After graduating with a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds, Ian started his career as a Process Engineer in the energy, nuclear and chemical industries before moving into Process Safety Engineering.
Working in consultancy Ian has delivered projects including safety and environmental management systems, fire protection, loss prevention, quantified risk assessment, consequence and dispersion modelling to a wide range of industrial and government clients.
Ian is a Fellow of the IChemE and is currently the Global Functional Process Lead for Design HSE, and Manager of the UK Design HSE Department for Fluor Corporation. He is a trustee of the Hazards Forum.
