Kazym is a Safety, Health and Environment Risk Manager working for SSE Renewables operations, covering hydro, offshore and onshore wind generation, solar and battery storage, as well as development and construction projects in renewables.

He has been working in safety and environmental risk management supporting renewables electricity generation, oil and gas, uranium mining, food processing operators, and as a process safety consultant for over 25 years. He has been a member of IChemE since 2005 and obtained his Chartered status in 2016.

Kaz's interests lie in the technical risk management for conventional technologies, such as renewables (hydro / wind) or upstream or downstream oil and gas, as well as process safety risks posed by emerging technologies, such as CCUS and hydrogen generation / storage.

He became the Safety & Loss Prevention SIG's Treasurer in December 2023.
