The IChemE's Major Hazards Committee has issued new guidance on how engineers should manage risk.

This follows the UK's Engineering Council providing new guidance on risk in 2021, aligned with the ISO 31000 standard, 'Risk Management'.

IChemE believes that how ISO 31000 defines risk diverges from the definition which is generally accepted in the safety-related regulatory environment and by engineers in the process industries.
