Part 1: Tullich WTW tour
Time: 11:30
A two-hour guided site visit of Scottish Water's Tullich WTW in Oban.
This is a follow up to the Water SIG's May webinar on the Tullich WTW project where the Tullich WTW project will be discussed in detail and the application of DfMA and digital tools on the project presented (note the registration for the webinar event is separate). The walk over, hosted by the project process commissioning engineer, will take attendees through all the treatment stages, discussing the processes and pointing out the interesting commissioning issues that were encountered. Scottish Water Operations staff will also be on hand to answer any queries.
Note the following requirements for all attendees:
Attendees should bring the following PPE (which should be in a clean condition and will have only been used on a water treatment works):
- safety boots
- high vis waistcoat or jacket
- gloves
- safety glasses
- hard hat.

Part 2: Lunch in Oban
Time: 14:00
A sit-down hot meal at Cuan Mor in Oban with other attendees.
Cuan Mor is a delightful harbourside restaurant, with a lunch menu to suit all tastes.
Part 3: Oban distillery tour
Time: 15:30–17:00
A tour of Diageo's Oban distillery with extra insights into water/carbon during the process. One of the Operators will lead the tour and it will be more technical than the usual tour offered to visitors as the guide who will join the tour has a background in Chemical Engineering. The group will get to see areas such as the boiler house, wormtub and our heat recovery system that are not included in a regular tour. After the tour we will have a presentation from focusing on water and Oban being a carbon neutral site, and attendees can enjoy their drams at this point! – note they have small bottles for drivers to take their drams home to enjoy.
