Who are we?
Knowledge. Leadership. Impact.
The IChemE Safety Centre (ISC) is a not-for-profit, global collaborative network dedicated to unlocking excellence in major hazard management.
We are a group of passionate and committed process safety practitioners who share experiences, challenges and best practice in a safe and confidential environment.
Trusted by industry-leading operators, suppliers, consultants, regulators and academia, our mission is to:
- drive continuous improvement in safety performance by connecting with peers across sectors and geographies to share incidents/lessons learned and emerging hazards
- minimise environmental harm by preventing loss of containment
- support sustainability goals by improving operational efficiency and preventing incidents that harm people and the environment.
Membership is subscription-based, and in return for their commitment, ISC partners have access to resources, networks, work programs, benchmarking, best practice, training and conference discounts, and use of the ISC logo to demonstrate their commitment to safety excellence.
Sharing best practice across industry sectors, and learning and implementing lessons from relevant incidents in other organisations, are important to maintain the currency of corporate knowledge and competence. (Major Hazard Leadership Principle 8: UK HSE COMAH Guidance)
