Andrea Longley

Dr Andrea Longley is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist who holds an Engineering Doctorate. Andrea began her career with the Industrial Gases company Air Products, working briefly in process design, process plant fabrication and specialty gases. She then completed an industrially based EngD in collaboration with British Steel. Since then she worked for 19 years for Dow Corning, in commissioning and manufacturing initially, later moving to their Environmental, Health and Safety Department. She has experience of HAZOP, MoC, PTW, Operator training, PSM KPI development, COMAH safety report preparation, regulatory compliance, risk register development, auditing and all aspects of EHS Management Systems.

Andrea is now a Responsible Care Executive at the Chemical Industries Association where she runs their national Process Safety and Sulphuric Acid Networks as well as the Midlands and West Yorkshire Responsible Care Cells. She also provides EHS Management Systems Support to companies separately as a Consultant.
