Sustainable production and consumption can be defined as production and use of products and services in a manner that is socially beneficial, economically viable and environmentally benign over their whole life cycle. The journal aims to provide a leading platform for publishing high-quality interdisciplinary papers on research and practice in this emerging field.

Learned Society: Priority Topic – Responsible Production

IChemE aims to deliver tangible outputs on several aspects of sustainability and responsible production, including climate change, ethics, systems engineering and life cycle analysis. In the short term, the Responsible Production work influences the work IChemE is involved with to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
