Student Member
Membership options for postgraduate students
Student membership is for those who are studying towards an undergraduate qualification. As postgraduate students already have their first degree, they are eligible for free membership to be either:
Associate Member (AMIChemE)
If you hold a chemical engineering degree accredited by IChemE at bachelor’s level or above, or a bachelor’s level chemical engineering degree recognised by ENGINEERS EUROPE, or the Washington Accord or Sydney Accord, you can apply to become an Associate Member.
Affiliate Member
If you hold an undergraduate degree in another subject or at another level, you can apply for Affiliate membership.
Discounts
If you have re-entered full time education to obtain a postgraduate degree, you are eligible for Affiliate or Associate membership for free via reduced rates. Courses that qualify are:
- research degrees (PhD, EngDoc, MPhil) in a subject related to chemical engineering
- taught postgraduate degree courses in a subject related to chemical engineering.
How to apply for a reduced rate
Providing you meet the above criteria, you can apply for the reduced rate by completing the online form in the MyIChemE member area.
