Work-based Learner Membership is for individuals undertaking an apprenticeship, technical/vocational qualification or formal training programme while in employment.
Free to join, it offers access to professional development resources, technical knowledge, mentoring, networking opportunities and career guidance, helping work-based learners grow their expertise, expand their professional network, and progress towards professional registration and a rewarding career.
Who can apply for Work-based Learner Membership?
You can apply for Work-based Learner Membership if you are studying an apprenticeship, technical/vocational qualification or a formally structured training programme and be in employment.

What are the benefits of Work-based Learner Membership?
Work-based Learner Membership gives you access to our member resources:

How much does Work-based Learner Membership cost?
IChemE Work-based Learner Membership is free to join for work-based learners.
How do I apply for Work-based Learner Membership?
Before starting your application, please check you are eligible in the 'Who can apply for Work-based Learner Membership' section.
To apply as a Work-based Learner Member you must first register on our application portal.
Once you have registered on the application system, please download and complete this form and return to applications@icheme.org.
No longer a work-based learner? What happens next?
We will contact you once a year to confirm you are still eligible for the Work-based Learner Member grade and that you wish to continue with membership. There is no cost to renew, just a quick confirmation to ensure you are still eligible and can continue enjoying your member benefits.
When you are no longer a work-based learner you should progress to a different membership grade as appropriate.
