Synthomer Sdn Bhd is worldscale supplier of Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) which is used to manufacture disposable medical gloves. Demand for NBR surged due to the COVID-19 pandemic accelerating Synthomer's strategic decision to expand its NBR manufacturing facility in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. Production capacity was increased 60,000 tonnes per annum by an additional reactor stream plus site support facilities and infrastructure upgrade.

Innovative project delivery methods, beyond anything the industry has experienced, were developed to ensure this capacity increase was achieved safely by early 2022 in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic.
