Abdul Latif Ahmad
Abdul was the Dean of School of Chemical Engineering, USM (2005–2010), Research Dean, Science Fundamental Platform (2010–2012) and the Director of Nexus Engineering, USM (2017-2019).
Abdul is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow to IChemE. He was one of the engineering accreditation council for the IChemE Education and Accreditation Forum (EAF). He is a professional engineer under Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). He is frequently being appointed by IChemE as a panel to accredit Chemical Engineering Program for various universities in UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia.
Abdul was the recipient of IChemE Novel Engineering Solution (NES) Award 2008. He was also the recipient of the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water 2006 (Saudi Arabia), the Khwarizmi International Award 2008 (Iran), 2012 TWAS Prize in Engineering Sciences (Italy), Rotary Research Gold Medal Award, Toray Science and Technology Award 2010 and Merdeka Award 2014 (Scholastic Category).
He has graduated 70 MSc and 51 PhD students. Accumulatively, he has secured almost RM 35 million research funding.
