Tekena is a Chartered Chemical Engineer. He has worked in the private and public sectors in energy, petrochemicals, oil and gas, precious metal refining, and academia. He has implemented a range of energy efficiency and low carbon solutions across the industry for over a decade and has led innovations in low and zero-carbon solutions at Shell, Centrica, and Doosan Babcock.

With a BSc in chemical engineering, an MSc in process and environmental systems engineering, an MBA, and a PhD in sustainable energy systems, his areas of interest are energy techno-economics, efficiency, policy, and strategy. He is also the Chair of IChemE’s Energy and Resource Efficiency (ERE) Task Group and developed case studies of good practice examples of useful technologies and systems in energy and resource efficiency which was shared with the membership.
