James is a Chartered (Professional) Engineer, Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), Fellow of Engineers Australia (EA) and a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland.

James is active in several societies in Perth such as Chairing the EA and IChemE Joint Chemical Engineering Committee (JCEC) and a member of Society of Underwater Technology (SUT) Committee. Through his JCEC commitments he also represents WA on the IChemE Australia Board.

He has dual Australian and British citizenship, and has 20+ years of team management and simulation expertise in the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry, including:
