Reduced rate eligibility
A member may apply for a reduced rate for a membership year if they are not working or experiencing financial hardship due to:
- maternity leave including paternity and adoption leave
- career break
- retirement
- low income earning no more than GBP 22,605 per annum (AUD 47,627 / MYR 14,247)
- unemployment
- long-term sickness
- unforeseen/unavoidable hardship
- have re-entered full-time education to obtain a postgraduate degree. Courses that qualify are:
- research degrees (PhD, EngDoc, MPhil) in a subject related to chemical engineering (max length 48 months)
- taught postgraduate degree courses (MSc or MRes) in a subject related to chemical engineering (max length 24 months).

How to apply for a reduced rate
You can apply for a reduced rate by submitting the reduced rate request form in the MyIChemE members area. Once we have received and processed your request we will email you regarding your subscription. Please note we may ask for evidence relating to your claim.
